Some of my most sentimental and passionate worship experiences happened at two places: Hume Lake Christian Camp and Azusa Pacific University chapels.
(side note: Hume Lake is where I was first introduced to the band Something Like Silas. I mentioned them in the "Insomnia By-Product" post below. At Hume, they led some of the most raw, passionate worship sessions I've ever experienced. The cool thing is that later on, they also played at some of our APU Wednesday night chapels and I loved it!!).
Anyways, I absolutely LOVED attending APU, and the other night I was missing my APU chapel worship (particularly the Wednesday night chapels) and was looking online to see if any videos were posted of worship sessions from when I was a student there. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any, but I did stumble upon this video that was taken from an APU chapel this past Easter 2011. I think this song came out a few years ago, but I had never heard it until I watched this video. I think it is beautiful.
Here are the lyrics:
Verse 1:
See His love nailed onto a cross
Perfect and blameless life given as sacrifice
See Him there all in the name of love
Broken yet glorious, all for the sake of us
Chorus:
This is Jesus in His glory
King of Heaven dying for me
It is finished, He has done it
Death is beaten, Heaven beckons me
Verse 2:
Greater love no one could ever show
Mercy so undeserved, freedom I should not know
All my sin, all of my hidden shame
Died with Him on the cross, eternity won for us
Bridge:
Such love, such love
Such love is this for me (repeat)
